Batman Arkham Asylum Trailer out

It appears that Batman Inc. has not one, but two releases to brag about today. The first is the release of The Dark Knight on DVD and Blu-ray, and the second is a trailer for the Batman: Arkham Asylum video game.

The Arkham Asylum trailer is nothing more than a teaser, and what a tease it is. As soon as I watched it, I had to find more on it. I looked online and could find very little about this game other than what I saw on the teaser trailer.

It appears that the game begins with the caped crusader (and his ward) dropping off the Joker at Gotham City’s favorite home for the criminally insane, only to find that all of his arch-enemies have conspired against him. From the trailer, I recognized famous Batman villains such as Killer Croc, but surely the game knows better not stop there. This is a Batman game, so there has got to be more villains than that.

Batman: Arkham Asylum has a very dark look to it, so dark that you can barely tell where the characters are. There is a clear Bioshock influence, and I can’t help but wonder how much the gameplay of Arkham Asylum will resemble that best-selling title.

From what it looks like, it will be the best Batman video game since Lego Batman. Take a gander at this video and leave a comment to let everyone know what you think.
