bluraydvd rendering VIZIOs New Blu Ray Player, the VBR100I’m not certain if Blu-Ray is going to replace DVDs entirely, but I think VIZIO is ready with their newest player, the VBR100.

I had a chance to see it at CES 2009, and it is a real beauty. The front has a beautiful ebony front with controls highlighted in blue cobalt light. Of course, the picture was Blu-ray clear, and sound quality was good too.

The VBR100 has a 24-bit/192kHz audio Digital to Analog Converter to ensure pristine audio playback form the latest surround sound formats. It also has built-in audio decoding for uncompressed audio formats like Dolby True HD, DTS-HD Master Audio, and many others.

It has a 108MHz/11-bit digital-to-analog converter (DAC), and gives 1080p from Blu-ray discs with selectable 720p/1080i/1080p video upconversion for DVDs. As for ports, it as video outputs of HDMI, component, and composite, and audio of 7.1 channel audio, coax, optical digital audio, and analog stereo.

The VBR100 will be available in April for a price of $199.99. That is pretty good for a Blu-ray, as most of them will go at a few hundred dollars. That’s VIZIO for you: a company that gives a high quality product at an affordable price.

I have to agree. Everything Vizio offers is such a good deal! I love how Vizio is still offering at a low price especially in this economy.

I purchased one of these on 09/30/2009. It has a beautiful picture and even makes the older DVD’s I have much clearer. Very easy installation. I have had two problems with mine and I’m taking it back to the store today It is pausing by itself for no reason several times in the middle of a movie. Also, the front touch screen panel works sometimes and sometimes it won’t. Make note that I will be returning it to Wal-Mart and replace it with an identical unit. That’s how impressed I am with the clarity and functionality of the unit. I’ll see if the one I first purchased is a lemon or this in an inherent problem with the unit.
