Since iLife 2009 has now hit the market, it promises to make a lot of things easier for users with iPhoto ‘09, iMovie ‘09, Garage Band ‘09, and iWeb ‘09.
This year’s iWeb ‘09 has some website design applications that promise web design for the rest of us. A user can create a site using some good themes. It is as easy as choosing a theme with coordinated fonts, backgrounds, and colors to give a consistent look on the site. No more unorganized sites.
Once the theme is picked out, the user can customize it with photos, movies, text, and widgets. As you might have guessed, you can take the photos off of iPhoto, movies from iMovie, and songs from Garage Band. All of these can be easily uploaded on the iLife Media Browser.
Then there is the interactive widget feature which gives iWeb ‘09 drag-and-drop, easy-to-add RSS feeds, iSight photos, videos, a countdown timer, YouTube videos, HTML snippets, as well as other features.
It is also easy to publish and manage using MobileMe, with built-in FTP. You can even program iWeb to automatically update your Facebook friends every time you make an adjustment on your personal site.
So how will this change the world of web design as we know it? Keep a look out for a lot of homemade web sites that will look similar, because they have iWeb themes and widgets in their design. If you are on Facebook, be prepared for a lot of updates from iWeb users. Indeed, iWeb won’t change everything, but enough to make your life more interesting.
