How did you first learn to design web sites? Did you teach yourself or did you take classes? I started by teaching myself HTML then in high school I took some web design classes to get more into it.

Mostly through trial and error, never took any classes, cause like Hell I'm gonna listen to some drivel and learn how to make websites for IE. To hell with that overused, obsolete, leech.

I started web designing when i was 14 year old :D That time i was playing with small html codes like creating basic html program, using table , show picture in table etc etc. Html is really very good language for both beginner and professional.
@Rohitpatel w3school is really very good website for learning html. Nice and step by step tutorials. |

I learned the basics on HTML in high school but... I never really paid any attention to it. I thought how is this ever gonna help me in life! Now I wished I had paid attention. But of friend of mine envoked the language on me and I'm learning little by little. I am gonna try that W3School site though. Thanks Rohitpatel |

I learned using online tutorials, and would get new books on various languages and methods each birthday from my parents. As i have become more experienced i now stay up to date with the latest trends and methods by following blogs and looking at pages source code.

I learned using the w3c site. Although IMO trial and error and figuring things out for yourself is the best way of learning. And looking at a view source codes now and then helps a lot too.
