Is Perl a good scripting language?Can anybody tell its uses and its applications.

In terms of the internet pearl is used to create cgi scripts which run on web servers. CGI scrips can be used to do just about amything you can think of from file transfers, to ustilising databases for forums, blogs, etc.

CGI is a relativly old scripting languare which has been superseded buy newer more user friendly scripting languages with increased functunality. If you are interested in learning a scripting language i would recomend PHP as it is almost universly supported by web hosts, can do enything a Perl CGI script can, and im my opinion is far easyer/faster to develop with.
