As we go about “realizing” our New Year’s resolutions were maybe just a bit too stringent, I’m going review the top five games in Linux. Once the great downfall of the platform, gaming can now only be considered a strength, in the hopes you take up this guilty pleasure and wait for 2010 before you give up on gaming. May I present the premier Linux gaming software with the best from each genre. Tremulous (Shooter) This FPS (first-person shooter) game is portable on all main... Read More
New Law Stops Me From Taking Pictures in the Bathroom
The new law will require camera phones to make a clicking noise when taking a picture. The purpose of the law is to deter predators from sneaking pics of unsuspecting school children and scantily dressed women. What does this law really do? Take away your right to privacy, of course. I know I’ve turned my camera phone to silent for many purposes, none of which included sneaking an up skirt photo of my good friend Julie that one night when she was really plastered and passed out on my ping pong... Help Me Hate Google
We all use Google search. I know you use Google. Know how I know? Because you use Google. I know you don’t not use Google, don’t try to convince me otherwise. Go ahead and complain about how Google owns the entire Internet market of everything, complain about Google’s arrogance or about how it helped China to censor the Internet. Grumble about how Google is squirming into every aspect of your life. Make a fuss over how the word google has turned into a verb. Bitch about how much... Read More
SONY Shows Us Some Pointless Crap

Today at CES 2009, Sony teased the crowd with a look into the possibilities of 3-D gaming. Don’t be expecting any specs or release dates in this article, because there are none. Sony has kept its mouth shut on anything interesting. All Sony reps would say is that the demo video shown at CES is just an example of technologies that could be applied to PS3 in the future if Sony decided to pursue that direction. It’s all huff and puff, I think Sony just wanted to get some attention for its... Read More

Top 5 Auto Insurance Websites
Years ago you would have to call your insurance agency and spend hours talking with several different tellers that would give you the same monotonous tone of voice (the ‘I hate my job and your needs are less important to me than the dirt under my nails’ voice). Now that we’re doing everything online these days, dealing with auto insurance doesn’t have to be such a tedious chore (at least not as much). I’ve assembled a list of what I believe are the top 5 auto insurance... Read More
EEE Keyboard: Sheet Metal of the Future
The EEE keyboard is the coolest flat strip of metal you will ever use. Intel Atom internals are compacted into the metal case which has a full QWERTY keyboard with individually inset keys and a built-in touchscreen which can present windows desktop or a bunch of media controls. This thing is basically a fully functional PC all on its own. Very Mac-like To many, the design harks back to the home desktop computers of the 80s. There are a million little ports for you to play with: Ethernet ports, VGA... Read More
Verizon Loves Microsoft, Google Jealous
Microsoft goes head-to-head with Google in the mobile search market by signing a five-year deal with Verizon Wireless. Microsoft has gained some serious ground in the search engine market with this move and also has the go ahead to manage search and display advertising on Verizon’s mobile web site. “Mobile search and mobile advertising offer tremendous opportunities for innovation and growth, says Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer. Microsoft is in a unique position to deliver a fully integrated,... Read More
Apple Changes iTunes Formula, I Still Won’t Buy My Songs
Apple is following other online-music distributors such as Amazon in removing copy protection from its digital songs. Now you won’t feel like you’re only renting a song and unable to do much with it, so your songs have a new found freedom. I never used iTunes because I didn’t want my songs to be restricted to my iPod (and I don’t want to pay for them, shh!), but now you will be able to do whatever you want with your songs. Prices have changed too. Apple is no longer locked... Read More

The PS2 was the most used console in 2008, beating out all current-gen systems. PS2 took up 31.7% of console players’ gaming time according to end of the year Nielsen ratings. Coming in second was Xbox 360 with 17.2% and Wii with 13.4%. Surprisingly (but not too surprisingly) the PS3 fell behind all other current-gen consoles as well as the original Xbox and its predecessor the PS2. Even the old Gamecube almost beat out the PS3 in console usage last year. Here are the console usage stats based... Read More
