Some of you might not be familiar with Glacier, a combat racing game that puts the gamer behind the wheel of the Iceblade, a heavily-armored, turbocharged vehicle that goes down an icy mountain full of falling rocks and high-flying jumps. Team6, the company that made Glacier, plans to release the sequel Glacier2 to the Wii. This would be the first time that Team6 has worked with Nintendo’s Wii, and it would appear that the company plans to take advantage of the Wii’s motion controls. Gameplay... Read More

A crushing defeat (By the very first thing you clicked on in the game)

With the news that UC Berkely has gone completely insane and is offering course credit for having StarCraft LAN parties and eating Cheetos, it seems worthwhile to look at what other games would make good university classes. So join me for 8 games that should be the subject of university classes! "Status update, Private Jones!" "The opposing forces are being totally cheap and spamming the M16, sir! And they don't even have the red tiger skin! What a bunch of noobs, sir!" CALL... Read More

I’m not certain if Blu-Ray is going to replace DVDs entirely, but I think VIZIO is ready with their newest player, the VBR100. I had a chance to see it at CES 2009, and it is a real beauty. The front has a beautiful ebony front with controls highlighted in blue cobalt light. Of course, the picture was Blu-ray clear, and sound quality was good too. The VBR100 has a 24-bit/192kHz audio Digital to Analog Converter to ensure pristine audio playback form the latest surround sound formats. It also... Read More

New Law Stops Me From Taking Pictures in the Bathroom

The new law will require camera phones to make a clicking noise when taking a picture. The purpose of the law is to deter predators from sneaking pics of unsuspecting school children and scantily dressed women. What does this law really do? Take away your right to privacy, of course. I know I’ve turned my camera phone to silent for many purposes, none of which included sneaking an up skirt photo of my good friend Julie that one night when she was really plastered and passed out on my ping pong... Read More

10 Songs Rock Band Needs to Get, and Get Rid Of

Taste in music is always a touchy subject. What is a masterpiece to one man is often nothing more than another man’s vile ear-garbage. What I like, you might find worth listening to only as a bizarre form of self-flagellation, bringing yourself to let its slimy, musical tendrils into your ear-holes exclusively as a form of punishment for some mortal sin. Nonetheless, there are songs that one can imagine are just objectively bad; songs that have literally reached the maximum level of crappyness... Read More

My first encounter with the game America’s Army was at PAX (Penny Arcade Expo) in Seattle in 2007, and the game drew a surprisingly large crowd. It was one of those booths where there is curtained off area, and you had to wait to see what was inside. Of course that only builds the anticipation, and there were uniformed Army officers around to answer my questions. At first, I thought that the video game was nothing more than a way for the Army to recruit, but something tells me it takes more... Read More

There’s a lot of talk around the internets about which (free) Linux distro is the ‘best.’ And while this article won’t opine either way, I do hope to put some perspective on the Linux debate using public data. First off, using Compete.com We all (hopefully) know the good and bad sides of Compete… While their data is great for getting a general sense of how site traffic measures up by comaprison, it relies on tracking visits made by users that have the Compete toolbar... Read More
